Jeevika CSR initiative was launched with the primary objective of enhancing the capacity and skill development of rural women and enabling them to adopt business acumen, leading to increased income, social status and thus women empowerment. All the initiatives have market linkages and training on entrepreneurship development, helping the trained women with assured income leading to financial independence.
We have collaborated with various NGOs for providing skill and entrepreneurship training in different vocations like apparel (tailoring); embroidery work, beauty hair care and indigenous crafts to create income generation opportunities at community level.

Today, India is the largest producer of milk in the world, contributing to 24% of global milk production. India produces 50% more milk than USA but for that, it has 10 times more cattle population, which highlights one of the biggest challenges in the dairy sector and that is the low cattle yields in India. Dairy farming is an important rural livelihood and supplementary income from dairy helps families especially in rural India to overcome challenges posed by the erratic agriculture income.
Recognizing the cattle care as a key need for the community, SMFG India Credit launched a unique cattle care program - Pashu Vikas Day (PVD) that not only addresses the challenges in dairy sector but also creates a networking platform for the cattle owners. Launched in 2014 and completed 5 editions, the Pashu Vikas Day is recognized as the largest single day cattle care initiative in the World.
Pashu Vikas day has created new records and has grown Year on Year in terms of the scale, beneficiaries and Impact it has created in the cattle industry. Below are the details:
