Yuva Kaushal - Skill Development for Youth
The Yuva Kaushal project was conceptualized with an aim to train and equip the youth with basic skills for entry level jobs in the banking and finance sector. This project has not only train candidates on technical skills but also focuses on their soft skills making them job ready for financial institutions.
Impact:
Today, India is the largest producer of milk in the world, contributing to 24% of global milk production. India produces 50% more milk than USA but for that, it has 10 times more cattle population, which highlights one of the biggest challenges in the dairy sector and that is the low cattle yields in India. Dairy farming is an important rural livelihood and supplementary income from dairy helps families especially in rural India to overcome challenges posed by the erratic agriculture income.
Recognizing the cattle care as a key need for the community, SMFG India Credit launched a unique cattle care program - Pashu Vikas Day (PVD) that not only addresses the challenges in dairy sector but also creates a networking platform for the cattle owners. Launched in 2014 and completed 5 editions, the Pashu Vikas Day is recognized as the largest single day cattle care initiative in the World.
